That she would not vote for Hillary Clinton in the general even if she wins the nomination. She’s Bernie or bust. Which made me think of this slogan I saw a while back.

Noooope. If Bernie doesn’t make the nomination, I’m still voting for Hillary. But on the off-chance that it’s Hillary vs. Kasich, I’m going to have to vote Kasich. I won’t stand having a liar in the White House.

Also, is it just me or does Kasich look like Cancer Man?

As a non-American, do you guys have any good candidate with actual chances to win this election? Because from where I live I only hear about Trump, Clinton, Cruz and Sanders, and none of them are actually very good.

“Do you want President Trump? Because that’s how you get President Trump.” - Sterling Archer

That's my worry, that the people who are going so nuts for Bernie now are going to be super disappointed when he loses to Hillary that they won't vote at all. And as they once said on a great SNL skit in the 90s: if you don't vote for the candidate you find least offensive, you run the risk of electing the candidate you find most offensive.

When one of them is under investigation for massively improper handling of classified information they might have a chance to get called up to the big leagues.

Don’t worry, the number of Bernie supporters who stay home will be vastly outnumbered by the number of Republicans who won’t vote for Trump. If Trump is the nominee, I’m going to vote for my wife and then change my registration to Independent.

Get used to saying President Clinton again, because that’s what’s going to happen.

I think you’re right.

Hillary’s in such a weird spot. Nobody in the world is excited to vote for her like they are for Bernie and Trump. Hillary is going to win this thing not because people do want her so much as they don’t want Bernie or Trump.

I’ve been saying that if Odin himself appeared to me and said if Trump wins nothing bad will happen for four years and he won’t get anything done, I might vote for him. Four years of him as President would be HUGELY entertaining. But it’s not something I’d go for without the Allfather’s say so.

No it’s not that real change is too hard (okay actually it is), but it’s just not humanly possible in the United States. Look at Congress, they won’t even hold fucking hearings for a judge they’ve all admitted they like!!! Are you fucking serious?!?!

If they can’t even hold hearings for a guy they like, let alone put him up for a vote, how the fuck are we going to elect a guy who has labeled himself a socialist (he’s not a socialist)???

because he has excitement behind him. He can get people motivated to get out and vote, also lets not forget the majority of Americans support his policies.

I’ve actually heard a surprisingly large number of Republicans/conservatives say they’d rather have Bernie than Hillary, which is interesting.

*Most Democratic primary voters support his policy ideas. But primary voters, in both parties, make up a very small share of the general electorate.

Let’s use Trump as example since he’s the most popular Republican candidate.

Roughly 20% of Republicans vote in the primary, but Trump isn’t getting 100% of the votes, he’s getting less than half. So in the general election Trump will only get 10% of the electorate to vote for him, so he has no chance, thank god.

If we apply the same numbers to Sanders, his chances look like shit. But, unlike Trump, there are going to be independents that support Sanders. But, 0% of Republicans will support him, and any right leaning Independent will not vote for him. And how about Democrats? Unlike Republicans, Democrats are incredibly short-sighted and don’t think about the party. There are many who have said they won’t vote for Clinton, at all. They may not vote for a Republican, but that’s one less vote for Clinton, whereas Republicans, as stupid as I think some of them may be, are smart enough to know that the party above all else understand that no matter what, they need to get the Party elected into office. It doesn’t really matter what asshole get’s elected (I’m talking about both parties now), as long as the party get’s elected.

As much as the Republican establishment hates Cruz, they’ll get behind him because he has a better chance than Trump to get elected.

By forsaking the Democratic Party altogether, short-sighted Sanders supporters will hand the White House back to the Republicans.

Politics is, and always has been, about the lesser of two evils, and Clinton sure as shit is the lesser of two evils.

If only President Obama had the noble opposition of a Bernie Sanders on his left flank. We need Bernie in the next administration in a significant role both to keep the enthusiasm he engenders alive and to press forward towards a more rational progressive agenda.

Otherwise get used to the guidance offered by this egomaniacal demagogue.

Interesting numbers, but the powers that be (corporations through lobbying firms) will never allow progressive ideas like that. The public option was scrapped for that reason, and the exchange set up in its place. The affordable care did some good things, like the patients bill of rights, but it’s pure grade a bullshit when it comes to requiring people to spend many thousands on private insurance. The subsidies should be way more than they are, but thanks to conservative ideals, new taxes aren’t an option.

Most progressive ideals can never be passed in this country thanks to the power structure. And with Citizens United, you can bet your ass things will only get worse.

To get the electability argument out of the way.

Sanders:

Clinton:

Bernie on average is more electable across the board.

That is extremely odd, since Bernie is a liberal’s liberal. I wonder if maybe that’s said by people who are more familiar with Hillary and don’t know just how far left Bernie’s politics go.
